Between Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann, Andrés Iniesta obviously had a hard time choosing...
While UEFA just announced this morning the names of three finalists for the title of best player in Europe, many players reacted. The first reaction is rather surprising because this player is known for his discretion and diplomacy: Andrés Iniesta's statement has definitely not gone unnoticed.
During a news conference this Friday afternoon, the Catalan expressed the sense of injustice he felt towards his teammates at Barcelona. "Messi and Suarez are not in the list of the three finalists? Well I guess I don't agree with that. Congratulations to the finalists. These are not the ones I would have chosen but everyone has their own way of seeing things." Probably a message addressed to the two Madrid players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, who were not finalists last year, contrary to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Remember that these three players were nominated by journalists from 55 federations connected to UEFA. A choice that did not please the Blaugrana who was crowned Spanish Champion and King's Cup winner last season.
Anyway, here is a video of Iniesta's amazing goal against Real Madrid:
