The great Didier Drogba has spoken about the identity of this year's Ballon d'Or.
Chelsea's legend is now enjoying his early retirement with Montreal Impact and delighting the Major League Soccer. Even in the US, the former player of Olympique de Marseille keeps a watchful eye on soccer news including the future Ballon d'Or.
The Ivorian striker has revealed the name of his favorite in the official TV channel of ... Real Madrid: "I played against Cristiano in the 2008 Champions League final that Manchester had won. He is a true leader and he deserves the Ballon d'Or based on the great work he did with Real Madrid and Portugal. Even if he could not finish the final, he remains the main architect of the final qualification of his team."
A far from surprising statement, since the Spanish club is currently on tour in Canada and has had the opportunity to receive visits from Drogba. Besides we couldn't really imagine him announcing the name of Lionel Messi or Antoine Griezmann in the official channel of the European champion...
CR7 and Leo may be fighting for the Ballon d'Or, but these two guys are above all great friends... or not.
