On Tuesday afternoon, a number of sources in Italy had confirmed that Gonzalo Higuain was set to leave Napoli imminently.
Gonzalo Higuain is set to complete a move to Juventus Turin FC after the Italian champions payed his $99 million release clause.
As we told you last week, the Argentinean underwent his medical last Friday in Spain. Today, Sky Sports said the deal was done.
« Gonzalo Higuain is now a Juventus player, the only thing missing is the official announcement, » Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio just said. « The bianconeri have in fact deposited the contract at the league's offices after paying the exit clause to Napoli- they will own the sporting rights to Higuain for the next four years.
« The Argentinean will earn €7.5 million (8,3M€) net per season in addition to owning his marketing rights, Napoli will receive €90 million ($99M) payable over two years, it would have been €94.7 million ($103M) had Higuain been the one to pay to be released from his contract. Former Real Madrid forward is going to sign a four-year deal in Turin. Higuain scored a stunning 36 league goals in 2015-2016, equalling the Italian record in a season.
