With the recent reports that Manchester United are willing to pay Paul Pogba upwards of $13 million a year to join their club, it's time to take a look at some of wealthiest players to make their living on the pitch.

Here are the 10 richest soccer players in the world:

10. Frank Lampard, Total wealth: $87 million

The former Chelsea and Man City midfielder is one of the greatest scoring midfielders in Premier League history - and certainly its most prolific - and is now plying his trade as one of NYC FC's star men.

9. Ronaldinho, Total wealth: $90.5 million

A two-time winner of the FIFA Player of the Year award, Ronaldinho is still waiting for the right opportunity to return to football after a brief spell with Fluminense.

8. Raul, Total wealth: $93 million

The No. 2 leading scorer in Real Madrid history behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul recently finished his storied football career with the NASL side New York Cosmos.

7. Samuel Eto'o, Total wealth: $95 million

One of the greatest strikers in the history of African international football, Eto'o has parlayed his skill into big contracts with numerous teams, even making $25 million for a single year with Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala.

6. Kaka, Total wealth: $105 million

Brazilian football legend Kaka was a star for Real Madrid before moving to Milan and later to Orlando City SC. In addition to 29 goals for Brazil, he has 109 goals and 195 assists in 612 career games at the club level.

5. Wayne Rooney, Total wealth: $112 million

Manchester United's captain is also one of the club's wealthiest players. He has recorded a bare-minimum of 14 goals in all competitions for the club every single year since joining from Everton in 204.

4. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Total wealth: $114 million

After scoring a career-high 50 goals for PSG last year, expect that wealth number to skyrocket next year as Zlatan earns upwards of $250,000-a-week plying his trade at Old Trafford.

3. Neymar, Total wealth: $148 million

Barcelona's rising star was a finalist for the 2015 FIFA Ballon d'Or, ultimately losing to his teammate Lionel Messi. At just 24 years old he is still coming into his own but is already the captain of Brazil.

2. Lionel Messi, Total wealth: $218 million

The reigning FIFA Ballon d'Or winner, Messi has claimed countless individual accolades and titles in his declade-plus with Barcelona - and has been generously compensated for being one of the world's most dominant players. Of course, there may be more we don't know about since he was recently convicted of tax fraud in Spain.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo, Total wealth: $230 million

Arguably the most high-profile player in the world - or perhaps the history of the world - Ronaldo has been featured in everything from the Euro Finals to feature-length movies about his own career. He has endorsed countless products, delivered titles to two of the world's richest clubs and is an all-around marketable player.
